Tōtara Springs Christian Centre’s new cabin development represents far more than just a facility upgrade, it is a long-term investment in renewal, growth, and the future of one of New Zealand’s most significant community and faith-based destinations.

At the centre of the project is a strong focus on sustainability, durability, and practical long-term performance. Every element has been considered through the lens of creating spaces that are resilient, efficient to operate, and welcoming for a diverse range of users.

For over 60 years, Tōtara Springs Christian Centre has been one of New Zealand’s leading destinations for camps, retreats, conferences, and community events. The new cabin development forms part of a wider master-planned renewal focused on replacing ageing accommodation with modern, future-focused facilities designed to support long-term growth.

Conceptualised by MAKE Architects, the new cabin complex combines four accommodation wings linked by open-air covered walkways and sheltered courtyard spaces, creating a durable, highly functional layout that encourages connection and long-term operational performance. With staged upgrades planned across the wider site, the project establishes a strong foundation for the Centre’s future development.
